The New York Deli situated in Cardiff’s famous High Arcade provides a unique American deli experience in a relaxed setting. With a wide range of American style sandwiches, New York Deli caters for everybody’s tastes.
Inside the Deli
The deli is quite small in size, however it gives a very homely atmosphere to the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and likable. It provides all types of sandwiches including hoagies, bagels plus American style hot dogs and burgers. It also includes seasonal food freshly made in the deli. The spring/summer range consists of a selection of several salads in a tray while the autumn/winter food uses hearty homemade veggie soups. You can also create your very own sandwiches with a wide selection of meats and salads. There is also lots of options for vegetarians.
I decided to go for the ham and cheese grinder which is a long roll filled with Mexican sauce, ham, swiss cheese melted with tomato, lettuce and also gherkins. The portions were quite large which made the sandwich quite messy to eat when picked up, which was the only negative point of the experience. However the quality of the sandwich was of the highest degree and very filling, which is what is required from a sandwich especially during lunch hour.
